I hope you have your snacks ready from the gift box, because you're going to need them.
If I were there right now, we'd be playing on your New York City skyline chess board. But since I'm not - you're going to have to beat me right here.
Win the game. Unlock your gift.
You wrote down that 2026 was going to be the year you explored more, traveled more, had more adventures. Together. I heard you.
You and me. A tiny cabin, tucked into the Catalan countryside. Pine trees all around. The sound of absolutely nothing. Sunlight softly pouring through a window while you lie there reading a book with nowhere else to be.
There's a wood stove, a kitchenette, a bed that faces the forest, and a hammock outside with your name on it. Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
When you arrive, you hand over your phone and your laptop. For real. They lock them away and give you a little box with a compass, a flashlight, and a basic Nokia — for emergencies only.
No Slack. No emails. No doom-scrolling. Just you and me, completely unplugged.
I've rented us electric bikes. From the cabin, we can cycle through rolling fields down to the Costa Brava — think hidden coves, crystal-clear water, dramatic cliffs along the Camí de Ronda coastal trail.
There are hiking trails everywhere. Medieval villages with cobblestone streets and hidden squares — Peratallada, Ullastret, Pals. Ancient Iberian ruins right down the road. Ceramic workshops in La Bisbal. Botanical gardens with views over the sea at Cap Roig.
You wanted adventure. This place is full of it.
That's the name of our cabin. It's run by Unplugged, surrounded by pine forest and rolling green hills. It's about 50 minutes from Girona, under 2 hours from Barcelona, and minutes from some of the most beautiful coastline in Spain.
Four days of cycling down country lanes, swimming in hidden coves, wandering medieval streets with no agenda, cooking simple meals in our tiny kitchen, and falling asleep to the sound of the wind in the pines.
No screens between us. Just the kind of time together we've been talking about.
It's booked. It's paid for. It's happening.
There's just a few things left for you to do, birthday boy.
You work so hard. You build so much. You carry so much on your shoulders every single day — and you do it with so much grace and kindness that I don't think you even realise how incredible you are.
This trip is my way of saying: you deserve to stop, breathe, and just enjoy being alive for a few days. With the person who loves you most.
I can't wait to explore with you, get lost in tiny Spanish villages with you, cycle along the coast with you, and fall asleep next to you in our little cabin in the woods.
Here's to 27. Here's to us. Here's to adventure.
All my love, always —
